Full Bathroom Renovation

Total Project Cost: $39,000

Often times in our industry you can see the transformation as it occurs. However, seldom few times, you truly get to witness the mystical magic wonders of what a clear vision and a skilled crew can create. Like Top Gun: Maverick, this bathroom remodel is the Top Gun: Maverick of remodeling projects. The process of a remodel is a lot making a movie; stressful, convoluted and has a lot of moving parts. But when the director (or in our case the customer) has a clear set vision of what they want and the right crew behind them, the end result will always be perfect.

For this project, our customer had the plan for this bathroom remodel on the back burner for years. Meticulously planned and ready to pull the trigger, the time for G2 to come in and create a spectral sanctuary within their home had finally arrived. Now the best part is while the vision remained, materials changed. Once our customer made it to ProSource and saw the materials in front of them, they found themselves piecing together a completely different bathroom. However in my humble opinion, this bathroom is even better then they could have imagined. Scroll below to check out the photos and the process of this transcendent bathroom remodel.

Before

With The old bathroom design, The tile was, well outdated. The lighting was poor and full of shadows, and the space felt cramped and unoptimized for its full potential.

During

The tile around the walls turned out to be built on plaster, which was a disaster. Once it was painstakingly removed, and demo complete, the shower was extended into the former closet. By framing a new wall for the shower on the backside, we allowed an open space for floating shelves as the new storage solution. This creates an open feel, allowing the bathroom itself to “breathe.”

Our Favorite Things

In this section we like to take the time to highlight a few features that the remodel really improved upon.

First up, the increase in space! While the total area did not increase by an inch, the restructuring of the bathrooms configuration maximizes the amount of open space within the limit of the 4 walls. Design aspects like this is where G2 as designers excel.

Next, the upgraded lighting! As you can see in the before pictures, the previous lighting was out of date and ineffective. The former did not even have a light in the shower, creating a dark unwelcoming shadow from within. Now with the modern; updated can lights, backlit mirror and the bright interior, the bathroom radiates a friendly welcome that is as open as the blue sky itself.

Then, the selections! From the beautiful and entracing listello, the matching shower floor, or the navy blue vanity with Cambria Portrush countertop, the selections made on this bathroom remodel are here to say one thing: “I am here to impress and I know it.” And impress us it sure did. The blue veins with gold flakes of the Cambria Portrush echo off the navy blue as if an extension of the vanity itself. Combine that with the contrasting carolina blue tile accents and you cannot help but feel like stepping into a museum of class and elegance. Oh did I mention the Maple Floating shelves? Replacing the previous towel pantry with a modern take of creating open space is a master class in working with what you got to the maximum effort.

Finally, it feels clean! Not to say the former was dirty in any way, but stepping out of this new space is almost as if you yourself are porous. Baptised by the remodel itself.
